Freddie Thomas FOUNDER
BONKERS CONTEMPORARY is the brainchild of Freddie Thomas. Having left Art College and finding the Art World quite overwhelming and exclusive, she saw the need for something Brave, Bonkers and Brilliant. She decided to start #bonkers! These shows are all about the artists allowing them to be experimental, and providing a great platform for the Artists to be themselves. No Gallery/Curator dictates to the artists here. Each year she invites different artists to get involved allowing it to remain FRESH and VIBRANT. Watch this space new team has just been formed, introductions SOON!
Freddie graduated from The University of Edinburgh in 2015 with a MFA in Painting. Since graduating she has had 2 solo shows in Edinburgh and London, and been part of various group shows. She has exhibited in the Royal Scottish Academy and received funding for 2 art residencies one in New York USA, and one in Helmsdale Scotland. For her degree she studied Painting at one of the most up and coming art colleges in South East Asia, and had the opportunity to exhibit in India, Seoul, Hong Kong, Istanbal and Singapore. Freddie never takes the traditional route and this is very much reflected in her artwork. She is very much interested in society and the effect it has on the individual. Her work is bold, colorful and unapologetic pretty much like her!!!!
