Briefly, describe your art practice? I am an Edinburgh based visual artist working fearlessly in many mediums. I am interested in challenging social boundaries. My work naturally seeks to subvert the niceties of normality. I aim to create convincing collisions which hopefully surprise, amuse and disturb. Where unbelievable reality abruptly forces one to reassess what is true. My work explores traditional sculptural techniques including taxidermy, casting, carving, modelling, embroidery as well as drawing, print, collage, photography, film and installation.
What inspires you to make art work? Everything. IF I didn’t connect the pictures in my head to my busy hands then I fear I may implode.
Explain the basis of your art project for The Bonkers Contemporary Show What I have chosen to present here at BONKERS is a personal reaction to some of the private horrors and guilty pleasures of my last 18 months. I’m not a sex addict BTW but my friend Andrea Jackson is border line.
Who are your role models artistically? Everyone I meet. And Everybody.
What do you think is your most AMAZING achievement in art today? I recently made a hairy carrot. This made me happy.
