Abigail Smith, Clare Robertson, Freddie Thomas, Joan Stack and Roween Suess present an exhibition examining the different notions of Bonkers; inviting the viewer to join in a celebration of escapism, the hallucinatory; to lose your mind in art.
The work spans a breadth of mediums and takes its form through installation, performance, artwriting, film, sculpture, photography print.
The modern world offers repetitionism, the banal, mental ill health and reconfigured dystopias on loop. Work commitments, family pressures and financial responsibilities monopolize life, Western society is pre-occupied with status and image. We must fit in, we must identify ourselves within the stereotypes demanded of us.
Let's all go Bonkers!
